Florence Court

Set in the foothills of Cuilcagh Mountain, Florence Court is a large 18th-century house located 8 miles south-west of Enniskillen town. Despite being one of the most important Georgian houses in Ireland, little is known of its architectural development as no building records survived.

The house was romantically named after Florence Bourchier Wray, the wife of Sir John Cole who laid down the foundations of the house. The Cole family were powerful Fermanagh landowners with roots in the plantations of the 17th Century.

You can enjoy many wonderful walks around the grounds which include a pretty walled garden, holiday cottage, sawmill and ice-house to name a few. The Blue Trail is a gentle, even gradient 2.2 mile walk through native Irish woodland with historical estate features along the way, including the Florence Court Yew Tree. For those walkers who fancy something a bit more challenging, the red trail is a moderate 5.6 mile walk through the forest park and rewards those who choose it with views across Fermanagh and beyond.
