Marble Arch Caves

Explore a fascinating, natural underworld of rivers, waterfalls, winding passages and lofty chambers at The Marble Arch Caves Global Geopark.

The caves lay undisturbed for countless thousands of years as the river eroded and dissolved away millions of tonnes of limestone, and rank upon rank of stalactites grew slowly from the cave roof to carve and shape the majestic passages we have today. Superstition and fear kept visitors away until 1895 when two brave explorers disturbed the silence and the first beam of light pierced through the blackness.

Visitors to The Marble Arch Caves can enjoy a tour and see the bewildering variety of cave formations guided by the friendly and informative tour guides. The spectacular walkways allow easy access while powerful lighting highlights the glistening stalactites and reveals the beauty and grandeur of the caves. Electric powered boats take visitors through huge caverns and along the river located beneath the earth's surface.

The tour lasts for approximately 75 minutes and is suitable for people of an average fitness. It is recommended to wear comfortable walking shoes and warm clothing.

Located at Florencecourt Co. Fermanagh the Marble Arch cave complex has good car parking, a souvenir shop, restaurant, exhibition area and an audio visual theatre.
